Our website, https://fermelux.lu (hereinafter: “the website”), uses cookies and similar technologies. Cookies necessary for it to work are always active; audience measurement and advertising cookies are only set with your consent, which you give or refuse in the banner shown on your first visit. 2. What are cookies?
A cookie is a small simple file that is sent along with the pages of this website and stored by your browser on the hard drive of your computer or another device. The information stored therein may be returned to our servers or to the servers of the relevant third parties during a subsequent visit.

5. Cookies and technologies used by the website
5.1 Necessary cookies
They are essential for the website to work and do not require your consent: they store your cookie choice (cookie fl_consent, 6 months) and keep your ongoing conversation with our request assistant in your browser’s session storage, which is cleared when you close the tab. The conversation is only sent to Fermé-Lux if you confirm your request. Fonts are hosted on the website itself, and our hosting provider, Vercel Inc., does not set any cookies.
5.2 Audience measurement
With your consent, we use Google Analytics (Google Ireland Limited) to understand how the website is used: pages viewed, journeys, device type, requests sent. These statistics help us improve the website. Audience measurement cookies last no longer than 13 months.
5.3 Advertising
With your consent, we use the ad measurement tools of Google Ads, Meta (Facebook, Instagram), Pinterest, Microsoft Advertising (Bing) and TikTok. They tell us whether a visit or a request follows one of our ads, so we can measure how well our campaigns work and show our ads to people who may be interested.
When you send a request, your email address, phone number, first and last name, town and country may be shared with these platforms in encrypted (hashed) form, to link the request to the ad that preceded it (“enhanced conversions” or “advanced matching”). We also keep with your request the identifier of the ad or campaign that brought you to the website, stored for no more than 90 days in your browser. None of this happens if you refuse advertising cookies.
5.4 Tag manager
The tools above are loaded by Google Tag Manager (Google Ireland Limited), which does not set any cookies itself. Until you have given your consent, Google Tag Manager is not loaded and no data is sent to these platforms (Google’s “Consent Mode v2”, basic version).

6. Third-party content
6.1 Google Maps map
On the Contact page and on the quote and call-out request pages, the Google Maps map (Google Ireland Limited) only loads if you click “Show the map”. Google may then set its own cookies, governed by its privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. As long as you do not click, no data is sent to Google.
6.2 Social media
The links to Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp on the website are simple links: no content from these social networks is embedded in the website, and no cookies are set unless you follow them. Once on these platforms, their own rules apply; please read their privacy statement (which may change regularly) to find out what they do with your (personal) data.
7. Consent
On your first visit, a banner lets you accept all, reject all or customise your choice by category. Rejecting is as easy as accepting, and the website works fully either way: only necessary cookies are then used.
Your choice is kept for 6 months, after which the banner is shown again. It is also shown sooner if the list of platforms we use changes.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time with the “Manage cookies” link at the bottom of every page or with the button below. If you withdraw your consent, the cookies concerned set on our domain are deleted and the page is reloaded.
For the Google Maps map, clicking “Show the map” counts as a request to display it: if you do not want Google to set cookies, simply do not display the map.
8. Deleting data stored by your browser
You can use your internet browser to automatically or manually delete cookies and site data, including the request assistant’s session storage. You can also specify that certain cookies may not be placed. For more information about these options, please refer to the instructions in the Help section of your browser.
If you delete the session storage during a conversation with the assistant, that conversation is simply lost; the rest of the website continues to work normally.
